Boniface Ndong (213-C-77) announced retirement. The Senegalese player spent his last season with Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul and won the title.
Few days ago Boniface Ndong won the title with Galatasaray as the latter triumphed at 2012/2013 season as they won the Final series against Banvit 4-1. Galatasaray added 76:58 win in Game 4 and became the Champions.
The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Banvit BK managed to win fourth quarter 21-14

Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Arroyo chipped in 15 points and 8 assists. The former international guard Serkan Erdogan produced 11 points and 5 assists and Serbian center Vladimir Stimac added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Boniface Ndong averaged 8.8 points in the Turkish League in his last season.

Senegal has had the most appearance in the history of the Africa biggest basketball competition Afrobasket with twenty-five previous appearance, five titles (gold), six silver medals and three bronze medals to its credit.

The Senegalese Lions will be making it twenty-sixth appearance when the sixteen nations whose flags will be hoisted at the 27th edition of the African Cup Nations in Abidjan, Cote dIvoire missing out only at the maiden edition in Cairo, Egypt in 1962.
Senegal first outing at the FIBA Africa Championship (Afrobasket) was a fifth place finish in 1964 when the competition was staged in Casablanca, Morocco, the FIBA Africa Zone-II giant followed up with fourth place finish in 1965 in Tunisia after losing the losers final to Algeria by 57-46 points.
The Lions finally stamped it authority in African basketball in 1968 when it defeated host Morocco by 67-60 points to win it first title and thus began a robust journey in African basketball as it stepped out to be counted among the sixteen top nations that will fight for honours from August 20 through 31 at the stage of the Abidjan (Cote dIvoire) 27th Afrobasket.
Senegal joined the world basketball community in 1962 and is ranked fourth in Africa and 37th in the world and will look to better it fifth place finish at the 26th edition in Antananarivo, Madagascar after being considered as one of the title favourite after perennial champion Angola.
Senegal will play in group-B at the 27th Afrobasket in Abidjan, Cote dIvoire alongside host Cote dIvoire, Algeria and Egypt.
