CD Universidad de Concepcion (Liga Nacional) strengthened their roster with addition of 31-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) center Augustine Okosun (210-109kg-86, college: Keiser). He already started the season at Sitra Club in Bahrain Premier League, but left the team in Nov.'17:. In 6 games he recorded very impressive stats: 23.3ppg, 22.0rpg, 2.2apg, 1.3spg and 1.8bpg this season. The last summer Okosun played at Reales in Dominican Rep. LNB where in 18 games he averaged 9.9ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.3bpg.
In 2009 he was drafted by Austin Toros (D-League) in seventh round (102th overall).
The former Keiser University (NAIA) standoutis in his ninth season in pro basketball.
Among other achievements he won Dominican Republic La Romana League championship title in 2014. Okosun received also All-Egyptian Superleague Honorable Mention award in 2015.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to Okosun's pro career he managed to play on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa and of course North America) in nine different countries. Okosun has played previously professionally in China, Lebanon (Homenetmen), Qatar (Al Ahli), Romania (Medias), Spain, Dominican Republic (Dosa, Pueblo Nuevo and Juan Pablo Duarte), Egypt (Somouha), NBA G League (Austin Spurs) and IBL (Santa Barbara B. and Santa Monica J.).
The scouts decsribe him following way: A strong defensive player and rebounder who has great length and will protect the basket. A good mobile shot-blocker who can defend multiple positions, 3-4-5. Augustine can score in the post and is a strong finisher. He sets great screens and is effective on the pick and roll, as he goes hard to the basket and will finish strongly. Augustine is an athletic big who runs the floor extremely well.
