Micheal Eric
Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul (BSL) agreed terms with 29-year old Nigerian power forward Micheal Eric (210-109kg-88, college: Temple). He played last season at RETAbet Bilbao Basket in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 30 games he had 9.5ppg and 5.6rpg. Eric also played 8 games in Eurocup where he recorded 10.6ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.1bpg.
The previous (15-16) season he played at AEK Athens in Greek A1. In 9 games he averaged just 2.2ppg and 2.4rpg. Eric helped them to make it to the semifinals.
He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2016.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Eric's team won Atlantic 10 Regular Season in 2012. He was also voted USBasket.com D-League All-Rookie 2nd Team back in 2013.
Eric is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Italy (Enel Brindisi), NBA (Cleveland Cavaliers and Milwaukee Bucks), Greece (Panelefsiniakos) and NBA G League (Texas Legends and Canton Charge).
Eric attended Temple University until 2012 and it will be his sixth season as a professional player.
On Eric: Often compared to Serge Ibaka thanks to his defensive skills, for sure he's a great help defender and a great one-on-one defender, while offensive game has yet to be developed. However, with his athleticism and the way he jumps and blocks shots, he can quickly move to the top level.

Darussafaka Dogus Istanbul roster for 2017-2018:

Guards:
Muhammed Baygul
Will Cummings
Egehan Arna

Forwards:
Micheal Eric
JaJuan Johnson
James Bell

Center:
Emircan Kosut

Coach: David Blatt
