Ekpe Udoh
Utah Jazz (NBA) strengthened their roster with addition of 30-year old Nigerian international power forward Ekpe Udoh (208-109kg-87, college: Baylor). He has played for the last two seasons at Fenerbahce in Turkish BSL league. In 30 games he recorded 10.1ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.3apg and 1.6bpg last season. Udoh helped them to win the league title (twice) and the cup (also twice). Great season indeed as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Turkish League Defensive Player of the Year and voted to 1st Team and voted to All-Imports Team. Udoh also played 31 games in Euroleague where he averaged 12.1ppg, 7.8rpg (leader !!!), 2.2apg and 2.2bpg. A very good season in his career as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Euroleague Center of the Year, Import of the Year and voted to 1st Team.
In 2010 Udoh was drafted by Golden State Warriors in first round (6th overall). He attended Baylor University and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball. Udoh has been regularly called to Nigerian Senior National Team since 2016.
He has played previously professionally in Israel (Bnei Hasharon) and NBA (Milwaukee Bucks and LA Clippers).
The scouts decsribe him following way: A very athletic inside operator, with great leaping ability and long arms. Has good timing for shot-blocking and defensive rebounds, needs to improve his defensive skills to play at upper level. Offensively, he worked hard to add a decent mid-range shot, but he hasn' t a 3pts range yet.
