Chamberlain
Oguchi
Boulazac Basket Dordogne (ProB) landed 31-year old Nigerian international shooting guard Chamberlain Oguchi (196-86, college: Illinois State). He started the season at Soles in Mexican LNBP. In 30 games he averaged 13.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 1.2apg this season. The last season Oguchi played at Anwil in Polish TBL where in 11 games he had 13.7ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.0spg.
In 2010 (a year after he left the college) Oguchi was drafted by Maine Red Claws (D-League) in second round (14th overall).
He attended Illinois State until 2009 and it is his eighth season in pro basketball.
Oguchi has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2013.
Among other achievements his team made it to the Polish Cup Final Four in 2016. Oguchi received also Afrobasket.com All-African Championships 1st Team award in 2015.
He represented Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) last year. His stats at that event were 5 games: 8.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.6apg, 1.0spg, FGP: 14.3%, 3PT: 30.6%.
Oguchi is a very experienced player. He has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to seven different countries on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America). Oguchi has played previously professionally in Iraq, Lebanon, Philippines (Meralco Bolts), Russia (Spartak Primorie Vladivostok), Spain (Gran Canaria), Venezuela (Panteras) and France (STB Le Havre).
His game is described as: Long and athletic explosive scorer, Dangerous three point threat. Has no conscience whatsoever -- for better or for worse -- and will hoist up shots instantaneously if you give him an inch of daylight. Excellent coming off screens thanks to his heady off the ball movement and possesses very nice elevation on his jump-shot complimented by a lightning quick release, a pretty follow through and the excellent elevation he gets off the floor.
