Experienced 34-year old Nigerian center Akinlolu Akingbala (208-102kg-83, college: Clemson) left Saenz-Horeca-Araberri (LEB Gold) from In two games in Spain he had 4.0ppg and 5.0rpg this season.
The last season Akingbala played at Shahrdary Tabriz (Superleague) in Iran where in 5 games he recorded 10.8ppg, 9.2rpg, 1.0spg and 1.6bpg.
In 2006 he was drafted by Butte Daredevils (CBA) in third round (22nd overall).
Akingbala attended Clemson University and it is his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team made it to the French La Semaine des AS Cup Final Four in 2012. Akingbala was also voted Eurobasket.com All-French ProA 2nd Team back in 2012.
He represented Nigeria at the African Championships in Libya eight years ago. His stats at that event were 9 games: 6.1ppg, 5.2rpg, 1.2bpg, FGP: 64.7%, FT: 50.0%.
Akingbala is quite experienced player. He has played in eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Akingbala has played previously professionally in Belgium (VOO Verviers Pepinster), Italy (Enel Brindisi), Latvia (Ventspils), Russia (Universitet Yugra), Ukraine (Azovmash), France (Sluc Nancy and SPO Rouen) and D-League (Los Angeles D-Fenders).
