P.J. Alawoya
Defending champion KR Reykjavik (Dominos League) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) forward P.J. Alawoya (203-98kg-88, college: McNeese State, agency: Inception Sports). He has played for the last two seasons at MBK Rieker Com Therm Komarno in Slovakian SBL league. In 44 games he recorded 13.5ppg, 8.2rpg and 1.6spg last season. Alawoya helped them to make it to the final. Great season indeed as he was selected Eurobasket.com All-Slovakian League Defensive Player of the Year and voted to All-Imports Team and voted to 2nd Team. Alawoya also played 6 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged 10.7ppg, 6.0rpg (#2 in the league), 1.5apg and 1.8spg.
In 2012 (a year after he left the college) Alawoya was drafted by Austin Toros (D-League) in seventh round (111th overall).
He attended McNeese State until 2011 and it is his sixth season in pro basketball.
Alawoya won Slovakian League championship title in 2015.
Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Asia and of course North America). Alawoya has played previously professionally in Germany (Saar-Pfalz Braves and Cuxhaven BasCats), Japan (Orange Vikings) and D-League (Austin Spurs).
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
