Mozambique qualified for 2015 AfroBasket. They prevailed against Botswana in the qualifying series. Mozambique traveled to Botswana after having won comofortable in Maputo 61:40. The road game was much tougher test for Mozambique. However Horacio Martins team managed to eke out a 69:68 victory and sealed their AfroBasket appearance. Mozambique have qualified for the main continental event for the 13th time in their history. The best result gained at AfroBasket dates back to 1983 when Mozambique occupied the fifth overall position.

Ferroviario de Maputo celebrate the title in the country as they won the Final series against Ferroviario da Beira. In the last game Ferroviario de Maputo posted a final 69-56 win to seal the trophy. The second period was decisive in the game as Ferroviario de Maputo exploded with a 24-4 surge to take the lead in the game. Bojan Sekicki (188-PG-87) was named MVP of the Finals.
