Egypt earned the second straight win at the start of U16 AfroBasket. They stamped Mozambique to stay on top of Group B. Muhammed Saadeldin nailed 20 points to lead the winners. Mozambique fell at 0-1 after the loss.
Mozambique led midway through the opening quarter but Egypt strongly finished the period to gain a 20:12 lead. Egypt cleared off in the second term. They built a 54:25 halftime lead. Egypt extended their dominance in the third term. They accumulated a massive 80:33 advantage at the final intermission. Egypt opened the fourth frame on a 10:2 run and never looked back. Mugif Abdel netted 15 points and made 8 steals, while Mohamed Salem contributed 13 points for the winning side. Chuma Octavto responded with 13 points for Mozambique. Langa Loren chipped in 11 points in the loss.

Ferroviario de Maputo celebrate the title in the country as they won the Final series against Ferroviario da Beira. In the last game Ferroviario de Maputo posted a final 69-56 win to seal the trophy. The second period was decisive in the game as Ferroviario de Maputo exploded with a 24-4 surge to take the lead in the game. Bojan Sekicki (188-PG-87) was named MVP of the Finals. Ferroviario Beira (D1) landed 30-year old Togolese ex-international guard Jimmy Williams (196-86, college: Alderson-Broaddus, WV). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Williams played most recently at Al Ahli in Qatari D1 league. In 12 games he was fourth best scorer with impressive 23.4ppg and recorded 6.8rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg last season.
