Mozambique was down by Nigeria in both sides second group-A game Friday at the 26th FIBA Africa Championship for Men Madagascar 2011 Afrobasket. The Mozambican lost by 63-78 points to a more composed Nigerian side. The Mozambican lost the first three quarters by 11-20, 21-23, 14-18 and drew levels in the last quarter by 17 points apiece. Nigeria and San Antonio Spurs guard, Ime Udoka (196-F/G-77, agency: Priority Sports, college: Portland St.) led the Coach Ayo Bakare tutored Nigerian side with a treble effort of 13 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and 2 steals to give DTigers as the Nigeria senior national team is known a clean slate. DTigers and former Union Bank basketball club of Lagos forward Ejike Ugboaja (204-F/C-85) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 block-shots, shooting sensation Derrick Obasohan (199-F-81, college: Texas Arlington) had 11 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists, Oyedeji Olumide (208-C/F-81) contributed 10 points and 9 rebounds with Nigeria DStv Premier Basketball League reliable Abubakar Usman recording seventy-five percent from the three pointer scoring three of four attempt in the few minutes he stepped on court. *By Olusegun Ikuesan

Ferroviario de Maputo celebrate the title in the country as they won the Final series against Ferroviario da Beira. In the last game Ferroviario de Maputo posted a final 69-56 win to seal the trophy. Ferroviario Beira (D1) landed 30-year old Togolese ex-international guard Jimmy Williams (196-86, college: Alderson-Broaddus, WV). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Williams played most recently at Al Ahli in Qatari D1 league. In 12 games he was fourth best scorer with impressive 23.4ppg and recorded 6.8rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg last season.
