Maghreb de Fes (D1) signed 30-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) forward Olatunbo Ayeni (196-87, college: St.Francis, NY). He played last season at Al Wakrah in Qatari D1 league. In 18 games he was second best scorer with impressive 29.4ppg and averaged 11.3rpg, 2.3apg and 2.0spg. A very impressive season as he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Qatar D1 Forward of the Year, named to 1st Team and named to All-Imports Team.
Ayeni won EBA championship title in 2012.
He is quite experienced player. Ayeni has played in five different countries on three different continents (Asia, Africa and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Egypt (Geish Army), ABA (Jersey Express), APBL (Hudson Valley H.) and NBA G League (Erie Bay Hawks).
Ayeni is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league on the market.
He attended St. Francis College (NY) until 2010 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player.
Ayeni could be described: Kayode Ayeni is a big time athlete with long arms who can score and rebound extremely well.
He has a nose for the basketball and will make things happen by just being on the court.
He handles the ball well in the open court and he slashes to the basket extremely well.
