Host teams show no mercy winning all games.

Round 16 in D1 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Essaouira where host ASE (10-3) beat league's leader Chabab (10-3) 59-46 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Chabab. It was a key game for the top position in the league. ASE have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Kenitra and Chabab. Chabab will play next round against strong FAR trying to make it back to the top of the standings. ASE will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked FUS Rabat on the road.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kenitra. Third ranked Kenitra faced 4th ranked ACK. Host Kenitra (10-3) defeated guests from Belksiri (8-6) 76-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ACK. Kenitra have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Chabab and ASE. ACK at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. Kenitra will play against Wydad (#8) in Safrou in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ACK will play at home against Etudiant and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Rabat. Local FAR (8-5) outscored 8th ranked Wydad (3-10) 84-39 on Sunday night. FAR moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Wydad keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. They share it with Etudiant. FAR will meet league's second-placed Chabab in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Wydad will play against Kenitra (#3) and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 16 FUS Rabat was defeated by Etudiant in Tetouan 76-58. CODM beat Wydad at home 74-69.

Kenitra - ACK 76-66

Etudiant - FUS Rabat 76-58

There was a minor upset in Tetouan where 7th ranked FUS Rabat (4-9) was defeated by ninth ranked Etudiant (3-10) 76-58 on Sunday. Etudiant moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Wydad. FUS Rabat lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Etudiant will meet higher ranked ACK (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. FUS Rabat will play against the league's leader ASE having rather not much hope for a victory.

CODM - Wydad 74-69

No shocking result in a game in Meknes where sixth ranked CODM (7-6) defeated 8th ranked Wydad (3-10) 74-69 on Saturday. CODM maintains sixth position with 7-6 record. Newly promoted Wydad keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Etudiant. CODM will meet bottom-ranked WAC (#10) in the next round. Wydad will play against Kenitra and hope to secure a win.

FAR Forces and CODM Meknes to clash for title - 19 days ago
FAR Forces Armee Royales and CODM Meknes will play in the Women's League Final tonight. They celebrated victories in the respective semifinals on Monday. FAR Forces outgunned Etudiant 91:44 in the first semifinal clash. In the meantime CODM Meknes upset CRA Chabab Al Hoceima 60:57 to advance into the title game.    [read more]

CRA Chabab Rif Al Hoceima - CODM Meknes 48-43 CRA Chabab Rif Al Hoceima clinched Morocco Basketball Throne Cup Women 2017/2018. In the Final game they beat CODM Meknes 48-43 at the Salle Couverte Ziaten Tanger. Earlier in the semifinals CRA Chabab Rif Al Hoceima overcame FAR Forces Armee Royales 68-59.
