D1 Round 8: FAR Rabat defeats KACM in the closest game of the week - Dec 27, 2016

The most exciting game of round 8 in the D1 took place in Rabat. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked KACM (3-3) to sixth ranked FAR Rabat (4-3) 90-88 on Saturday evening. FAR Rabat moved-up to third place, which they share with MAS Fes. Newly promoted KACM keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with FUS Rabat. FAR Rabat is looking forward to face bottom-ranked RSB Berkane (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KACM will play against IRT Tanger (#9) and is hoping to win this game.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Al Hoceima. Top-ranked host CRA Hoceima (5-0) defeated one of their biggest challengers MAS Fes (4-3) 66-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of MAS Fes. Undefeated CRA Hoceima have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-0 record behind leader WAC. MAS Fes at the other side keep the third place with three games lost. They share the position with FAR Rabat. CRA Hoceima will play against FUS Rabat (#5) on the road in the next round. MAS Fes will play against ASS Sale and hope to get back on the winning track.
D1 top team - WAC (6-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed eleventh ranked RSB Berkane (0-6) in Casablanca 85-59. WAC have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-1 record. Newly promoted RSB Berkane still closes the standings with six games lost. WAC will meet KAC (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. RSB Berkane will play against FAR Rabat (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
A very interesting game took place in Tanger. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked FUS Rabat (3-3) to ninth ranked IRT Tanger (2-3) 77-74 on Monday evening. IRT Tanger maintains ninth position with 2-3 record. FUS Rabat at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. IRT Tanger's next round opponent will be higher ranked KACM (#6) in Marrakech and it may be quite challenging game. FUS Rabat will play at home against the league's second-placed CRA Hoceima and will have a slim chance for a victory.

In the last game of round 8 KAC won against IRAN on the opponent's court 73-63.

FAR Rabat - KACM 90-88

The most exciting game of round 8 in the D1 took place in Rabat. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked KACM (3-3) to sixth ranked FAR Rabat (4-3) 90-88 on Saturday evening. Iran - KAC 63-73

Rather expected game when 10th ranked IRAN (1-7) was defeated at home by eighth ranked KAC (3-4) 73-63. KAC moved-up to seventh place. IRAN at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the tenth position with seven games lost. KAC's next round opponent will be league's leader WAC in Casablanca and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
