Chabab Rif Al Hoceima (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 30-year old American point guard Marcus Neal (196-90kg-86, college: Delaware State, agency: Promotex). He already started the season at Bascharage in Luxembourg Total League. In two games he recorded very impressive stats: 21.5ppg, 7.5rpg, 7.5apg and 4.0spg this season. The last season Neal played also at Bascharage (also in Total League) where in 13 games he was the best scorer with remarkable 28.8ppg and had 8.5rpg, 7.0apg (leader !!!) and 1.5spg. Neal helped them to win the league title (twice). Great season indeed as he was voted to Eurobasket.com Luxembourg League All-Imports Team and 2nd Team.
He is a very experienced player. Neal has played also professionally in Germany (SC Rasta Vechta), Greece (KAO Dramas), Hungary, Italy (BancaTercas), Slovakia (SKP Banska Bystrica), Czech Republic (NH Ostrava) and FYR Macedonia (Kozuv).
He attended Delaware State until 2010 and it is his seventh season in pro basketball.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Marcus is a big, strong, and physical guard who can play both the point guard and off guard position very well. He is a long and versatile guard that can create match-up problems for opposing teams on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. He plays with great tempo and has the ability to score and get others involved with his passing ability.
