David Tairu
Newly promoted IRAN Ithri Rif Nador (D1) strengthened their roster with addition of 30-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) guard David Tairu (188-82kg-86, college: Texas Tech). He played most recently at Basket Globalcaja Quintanar in Spanish EBA league. In 18 games he recorded very impressive stats: 16.9ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.7apg and 1.0spg in 2014-15 season. Tairu also spent pre-season at SAP Vaucluse (ProB) in French league that year.
Among other achievements his team made it to the Greek Cup Final Four in 2012. Tairu received also Eurobasket Summer League in Houston All-Tournament 1st Team award back in 2011 at his college time.
Tairu is a very experienced player. He has played also professionally in Canada (Moncton Miracles), Iceland (KR Reykjavik), Israel (Elitzur Yavne), Greece (Kavala) and UBA (Cleveland Havok).
Tairu attended Texas Tech University until 2011 and it will be his sixth season in pro basketball.

Division 1 update - 5 days ago
In Division 1, CPAM Midelt claimed the North title with a clean win against Imzouren yesterday. The South remains in a three-way tie for first with one game yet to play. The tie is between Essaouira, Khouribga, and Safi. Division 1 waits for division excellence to conclude their season before playing a complementary 'title match' between the two pools. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Casablanca. Second ranked CRA Hoceima faced 4th ranked WAC. Guests from Al Hoceima (11-1) defeated host WAC (8-5) 78-61.
