AS Sale wins Moroccan Basketball League 2015/2016 - Jul 18, 2016


AS Sale won Moroccan Basketball League 2015/2016. In the Final game they beat Chabab Rif Al Hoceima 82-71. AS Sale grabbed a 20-17 lead at the end of the first period and added a massive 22-12 run in the second frame. Chabab Rif Al Hoceima meanwhile dominated the third period and came up with a 20-13 surge to reduce the gap in the game. AS Sale however needed a 27-22 final push to win the game.


ASS clinch th Cup of Throne 2015-16. - May 29, 2016


After the semi-final played against Fath US de Rabat where Malcolm Griffin (193-G-91, college: Fresno Pacific, agency: Promotex) gave a good resistance until the 3th quarter with 20 points,7 rebounds and 5 assists,the group of Said Bouzidi was too stronger and got his acces for the final against a surprising Wydad Athletic Club Casablanca team that beat Chabab Rif Al Hoceima on a tied game.
The final started with a rush of the Wydadi with a good field goal pourcentages behinf the arc and some lucky shots.Mohamed Hadidane (207-PF-86, agency: 011 Sports) was precise with cupples 3's and Tommy Lee Smith (207-F/C-80, college: Arizona St.) showed his experiences inside.For Sale,the national team forwad Abderrahim Najah (198-F/C-84) was dominating the rebound and keep his team alive and Dennis Mavin (190-G-91, college: FIU) score some penetrations and the local 3 points specialist Yacine Baeri (196-G/F-89, agency: Promotex) netted some important shots..In resume the first half was to the advantage of the Red team of Casablanca coached by Aziz Qaraouch.
In the second half the powerhouse of Sale started to be more confident and the experienced Cheyne Gadson (192-PG-80, college: Oklahoma St., agency: Promotex) scored some important basket.Sofiane Kordou who didnt play a lot,limited by 3 fouls already came from the bench and brings his energy to give an advantage to Sale.We can also note that Tommy Lee Smith posterized Abderrahim Najah with a frontal dunk.
Finally the guards of Sale controled the tempo of the game and gave the victory for Sale.Its the third cup in the row for Said Bouzidi.
Its time now to focus on the playoff and this final four proved that the tittle wont be easy to reach.
