Yesterday, we had the semi finals for the en in the Republic Cup 2006 and we had 2 great game.

In the first match, we had the the current champions, the Real, which played against the USBBRH, who came up 4th last year in the league. The USBBRH gave a good response to the Real in the first 3 quarters, but the maturity and experience of the champions allow them to accelerate in the last quarter of the game to finally win the match on the score of 76 to 64. It should be noted that player Thierry Julie gratified the public of some great slam dunk and especially one of the best that I have ever seen with a dunk on a rebound which showed the great talent of this player. The Real once again advance to the final of this tournament.

Their opponent will be the Flippers, who easily swept out the CDB in the second semi - final on the large score of 92 to 66. The current vice champions played the game with a fast pace and great defense and the CDB, even though were leading at half time 45 - 41, could not hold the rhythm of the game and the Flippers won the match on the score of 92 to 66. Pascal Prayag scored 36 points and Ronnie Nagloo 25 for the Flippers while Frederic Dubois scored 24 for the CDB.

It should be noted that the match had some problems as players of the CDB was doing flagrant foul and it was sad to see the coach of CDB encouraging his players to commit these harsh fouls on the Flippers players so as to injured some Flippers players and prevent then from playing the final. It is really ashamed to see a national coach, who have coach the junior national basket - ball team in the last african cup to act like this....

Still, we will now have once more, a great final between the Mahebourg Flippers, vice champion of Mauritius, against the Real, current champion of Mauritius. It is scheduled on Sunday 26th March 2006 at the Phoenix Gymnasium at 17hr00.

So, basket ball fans, stay tune to africa basket for a great final...

Till then, see ya all.

Real 76 v/s USBBRH 64

Flippers 92 v/s CDB 66
