Senegal edges Mali in overtime, both advance to FIBA AfroBasket - Mar 27, 2017

Senegal overcame Mali 79-72 in overtime, as both teams advanced to FIBA AfroBasket. Senegal grabbed a 17-16 lead at the end of the first period and added a 19-15 rally in the second frame. Mali scored 17 points in the third as well as the last stanzas to tie the game after four periods. In overtime Senegal needed a 14-7 surge to win the game.
Djibril Thiam (208-G/F-86, college: Wyoming) top-scored for the winners with 25 points, while Sambe notched 17. Mali's Boubacar Sidibe (205-C-94) finished with a team-best 24 points.

Stade Nabeulien (Division I) added to their roster 25-year old Mali international forward Ibrahim Djambo (208-98kg-92, college: Hofstra). He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. Djambo played last season at Seguros Soliss Alcazar Basket in Spanish EBA league, but left the team in Feb.'17. In 16 LEB Silver games he recorded 5.0ppg and 2.9rpg.
