Senegal edges Mali in overtime, both advance to FIBA AfroBasket - Mar 27, 2017

Senegal overcame Mali 79-72 in overtime, as both teams advanced to FIBA AfroBasket. Senegal grabbed a 17-16 lead at the end of the first period and added a 19-15 rally in the second frame. Mali scored 17 points in the third as well as the last stanzas to tie the game after four periods. In overtime Senegal needed a 14-7 surge to win the game.
Djibril Thiam (208-G/F-86, college: Wyoming) top-scored for the winners with 25 points, while Sambe notched 17. Mali's Boubacar Sidibe (205-C-94) finished with a team-best 24 points.

Jeanne d'Arc posted two wins at the start of 2018 League in Mali. At first they overcame CRB 67-49 in the opener. Later on Jeanne d'Arc posted a 60-50 victory over USM/J2. AS Real is with a 1-0 record beating after the win over Sigui/J2 73-57. Stade edged Usfas/J2 77-70 for a 1-1 record.   [read more]
