Mamadou Sy
Brissac-Aubance Basket (NM2) landed 31-year old former Mali international forward Mamadou Sy (196-85, college: Cloud County CC). He has a double citizenship as he also holds French passport. Sy has played for the last two years at St Vallier (NM1). In 35 games he averaged 4.2ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.7apg last season. Sy's team made it to the NM1 Play-Offs Semifinals in 2015.
He also represented Mali at the African Championships in Madagascar five years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 4.2ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.8apg, 1.0spg.
Sy has played previously for five other France teams: ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket, Stade Clermont, Boulazac Basket, SO Maritime Boulogne and Lille Metropole.
He attended Cloud County CC until 2006 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Mali players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is an international power forward Nianta Diarra (205-93, agency: Two Points). He could not help Olympique Antibes (11-15) in their last game. Despite Diarra's very good performance Olympique Antibes lost 86-90 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#5) ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket.    [read more]
