Mamadou Sy signs at Brissac-Aubance - Jul 9, 2016

Mamadou Sy
Brissac-Aubance Basket (NM2) landed 31-year old former Mali international forward Mamadou Sy (196-85, college: Cloud County CC). He has a double citizenship as he also holds French passport. Sy has played for the last two years at St Vallier (NM1). In 35 games he averaged 4.2ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.7apg last season. Sy's team made it to the NM1 Play-Offs Semifinals in 2015.
He also represented Mali at the African Championships in Madagascar five years ago. His stats at that event were 5 games: 4.2ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.8apg, 1.0spg.
Sy has played previously for five other France teams: ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket, Stade Clermont, Boulazac Basket, SO Maritime Boulogne and Lille Metropole.
He attended Cloud County CC until 2006 and it will be his eleventh (!!!) season in pro basketball.

He could not help the New Orleans Pelicans (34-48) in their last game. Senegal overcame Mali 79-72 in overtime, as both teams advanced to FIBA AfroBasket. Senegal grabbed a 17-16 lead at the end of the first period and added a 19-15 rally in the second frame. Mali scored 17 points in the third as well as the last stanzas to tie the game after four periods. In overtime Senegal needed a 14-7 surge to win the game.
