Bandja Sy
ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (ProA) signed 26-year old French ex-international forward Bandja Sy (204-97kg-90, college: New Mexico State, agency: BeoBasket). He is a dual citizen owning also Mali passport. Sy has played for the last two seasons at Sluc Nancy Basket Pro (ProA). In 33 games he had 8.2ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.0apg last season. He also played 10 games in Eurocup where he recorded 6.2ppg and 3.4rpg.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Sy's college team won WAC Tournament in 2010, 2012 and 2013. He was also voted All-WAC 1st Team back in 2013. Sy was a member of French Senior National Team two years ago.
He has played previously professionally in Canada (High School).
Sy attended New Mexico State until 2013 and it will be his fourth season as a professional player.

AS Police seal Cup title at the Palais des Sports Salamatou Maiga - 22 days ago
AS Police celebrated the Cup title at the Palais des Sports Salamatou Maiga in Mali. In the Final game they overcame As Real de Bamako 66-61. As Police posted an 18-12 lead at the start of the game and led 10 points at the halftime. Real de Bamako reduced to 52-43 at the end of the third period and managed to cut the deficit in the last period, however could not catch up with the opponents.   [read more]

Cheick Diallo's double-double lands him Player of the Week award among Malians playing currently abroad: - 1 month ago
Here is the weekly review of the top performing Mali players, who play currently abroad. This week's number one is former U16 international power forward Cheick Diallo (206-96). He could not help the New Orleans Pelicans (34-48) in their last game. Despite Diallo's very good performance the New Orleans Pelicans (34-48) lost 96-108 on the road to the Los Angeles Lakers.    [read more]
