Diarra leaves Antibes - May 29, 2016

Diarra
36-year old former French international forward Mamoutou Diarra (200-80) left Sharks Antibes (ProA). He has a double citizenship as he also holds Mali passport. In 33 ProA games he averaged 4.1ppg and 2.1rpg this season. He played there also last season. In 42 ProB games he had 7.9ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.1apg. He helped them to win the cup. Diarra was a member of French Senior National Team between 2004 and 2008.
He has played also professionally in Greece (PAOK Thessaloniki), Italy (Scandone Avellino) and France (Cholet Basket, Paris-Levallois, Chorale de Roanne, Bondy and CFBB).
Let's have closer look into Diarra's outlook: A very good young player. Impressive leaper, quick, excellent defense. Can hit the three pointers easily. However lacks regularity and do not take enough responsabilities in offense. Should also improve in rebounding.

He could not help the New Orleans Pelicans (34-48) in their last game. Senegal overcame Mali 79-72 in overtime, as both teams advanced to FIBA AfroBasket. Senegal grabbed a 17-16 lead at the end of the first period and added a 19-15 rally in the second frame. Mali scored 17 points in the third as well as the last stanzas to tie the game after four periods. In overtime Senegal needed a 14-7 surge to win the game.
