It was all smiles for Mimbulu on Saturday 10/11/07 for taking the 2007 Basketball Association of Malawi (Basmal) championship after beating Magang'a 79-59 in the final played at African Bible College in Lilongwe.

Basmal decided to hold the national tournament following Southern Bottlers withdraw of sprite tournament sponsorship. In an interview with the general secretary Roy kachale he said that they are facing financial problems but they managed to rise about k110, 000 which used to hold the tournament. Eight teams participated in the competition with Northern zone Basketball league (NOZOBAL) sending two teams, Southern Zone basketball League (SOZOBAL) sending two teams and Central Zone Basketball League (CEZOBAL) sending three teams.

Dynamites and Pistons represented Nozobal, Crazy Warriors and Magang'a represented Sozoball while Capital blazers, Bunda and Mimbulu represented Cezobal. Sozobal was supposed to send three teams but bricks(last years champions) did not turn up instead African bible college (ABC) went into their place. At the end the winners were given a trophy and medals.
