D1 Round 11: Derby game ends with Al Ittihad's defeat of Al Wahda - Dec 17, 2016

There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in D1. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tripoli: Al Ittihad (#1) and Al Wahda (#6). Al Wahda was crushed at home by 68 points 32-100 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Al Wahda. Al Ittihad maintains first place with 12-1 record. Al Wahda at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Al Ittihad's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tripoli Al Yarmook.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Benghazi: Ahly Benghazi (#2) and Al Hilal (#4). Al Hilal was crushed at home by 21 points 38-59 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Ahly Benghazi have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Nasr. Al Hilal at the other side keeps the fourth place with six games lost. Ahly Benghazi will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Al Hilal will play on the road against Morog (#3) in Almarj and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked El Nasr Zliten is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 11th consecutive match to third ranked Al Yarmook (8-4) 65-51 on Thursday evening. Al Yarmook have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 8-4 record having five points less than leader Ahly Benghazi. Newly promoted El Nasr Zliten still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Al Yarmook's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tripoli to the arena Al Ittihad.

Al Madina maintains fourth place with 7-5 record. Olympic lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Al Madina's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Tripoli Ahly Tripoli.

Ahly Tripoli maintains second place with 10-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Ahly Benghazi. Ichaa lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Ahly Tripoli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tripoli to the arena Al Madina.

Olympic - Al Madina 54-75

The game in Zawiya supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Al Madina (7-5) played at the court of 7th ranked Olympic (2-10). Al Madina smashed Olympic 75-54. Al Madina maintains fourth place with 7-5 record. Olympic lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Al Ittihad Tripoli (D1) tabbed experienced 35-year old Tunisian ex-international guard Mohamed Dhifallah (196-95kg-82) to play African qualify for clubs zone (1). He played most recently at C Africain in Tunisian Division I. He helped them to make it to the semifinals. The previous (15-16) season Dhifallah played at U.S. Monastir (also in Division I).
