D1 Round 7: Derby game ends with Al Yarmook's defeat of Al Madina - Nov 27, 2016

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tripoli: Al Yarmook (#4) and Al Madina (#5). Al Yarmook (6-4) won against visiting Al Madina (5-5) 69-65. Al Yarmook moved-up to third place. Al Madina at the other side keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Benghazi: Nasr (#2) and Al Tahaddi (#6). Al Tahaddi was crushed at home by 55 points 42-97 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Nasr (7-1) keeps a position of league leader. Al Tahaddi at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Nasr's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Benghazi Al Hilal.

Nasr claim Cup title - 3 months ago
Nasr have won Libyan Basketball Cup beating Al Ittihad in the Final game. They posted a 60-55 win to seal the trophy. Nasr won the first period 13-7, while the opponents replied with a 15-12 rally in the second frame. Nasr however posted two victories in the second half to win the game. Earlier the teams became the winners of the Preliminary Rounds in their groups.   [read more]
Nasr win Libyan Basketball League - 3 months ago
Nasr have won Libyan Basketball League after the Championship series with three other teams. In day 1 they beat Alahly Benghazi 75-51, while in day 2 Alittihad overcame Nasr 47-46. In day 3 Nasr posted a 55-45 win to triumph in the League. They finished on top with a 2-1 record and had a better difference amongst Alittihad and Alahly Tripoli that ended up with the same 2-1 records. The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tripoli: Ahly Tripoli (#2) and Al Madina (#4). Al Madina was smashed at home by 21 points 39-60 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Madina. Ahly Tripoli have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Ahly Benghazi.
