D1 Round 6: Nasr loses to Ahly Benghazi - Nov 20, 2016

Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Nasr (6-1). They were defeated by second ranked Ahly Benghazi (6-1) 60-55 on Saturday night. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Ahly Benghazi keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Nasr. Nasr will play next round against Al Tahaddi trying to make it back to the top of the standings. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will travel locally in Benghazi to the arena of Al Tahaddi. Ahly Benghazi will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Al Tahaddi. It will be extra interesting game as Al Tahaddi is their local rival from Benghazi.
Important game to mention about took place in Tobruk. Fifth ranked Ichaa (5-4) saved a 1-point derby victory at home edging one of their biggest challengers Al Madina (5-4) 58-57 in the game for the third place. Ichaa moved-up to third place, which they share with Al Madina and Al Yarmook. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
D1 top team - Al Ittihad (10-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Olympic (2-8) in Zawiya 79-40. Al Ittihad have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-0 record. Olympic lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the seventh place with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Nasr claim Cup title - 4 months ago
Nasr have won Libyan Basketball Cup beating Al Ittihad in the Final game. They posted a 60-55 win to seal the trophy. Nasr won the first period 13-7, while the opponents replied with a 15-12 rally in the second frame. Nasr however posted two victories in the second half to win the game. Earlier the teams became the winners of the Preliminary Rounds in their groups.   [read more]
Nasr win Libyan Basketball League - 4 months ago
Nasr have won Libyan Basketball League after the Championship series with three other teams. In day 1 they beat Alahly Benghazi 75-51, while in day 2 Alittihad overcame Nasr 47-46. In day 3 Nasr posted a 55-45 win to triumph in the League. They finished on top with a 2-1 record and had a better difference amongst Alittihad and Alahly Tripoli that ended up with the same 2-1 records. D1 Round 12: Al Madina is defeated by Ahly Tripoli in a derby game - 5 months ago
The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tripoli: Ahly Tripoli (#2) and Al Madina (#4). Al Madina was smashed at home by 21 points 39-60 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Madina. Ahly Tripoli have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Ahly Benghazi.
