Lerotholi Polytechnic clinches the LBA regular season title - Mar 5, 2008

Lerotholi Polytechnic team was impressive down the stretch and celebrated yet another triumph in the Lesotho Basketball Association regular season. They managed to pass their route spotless and claimed their second straight title. Lerotholi finalized the positive outcome against Leseli. Polytechnic squad overcame their opponents 42:41 to celebrate the title. The regular season champs now face a tough task of battling for the National crown in the Final Four competition. Last season they failed to deliver falling short to Rangers in the semis. But Lerotholi captain Ramatsoai Sothoane praised his team's effort and expressed a strong belief that Lerotholi would be able to achieve the highest possible tasks this season.
Meanwhile Rangers vice captain Motloli Mothepu believes that his teammates are capable of repeating the last season's surprise and downing the renowned favorites. Rangers are expected to travel to Botswana for a couple of friendlies as a part of the preparation for Final Four games.

MASERU The National under 17 Basketball teams preparations for the second African Youth Games Basketball 3-on-3 set for Botswana from May 24 to 30 are on schedule, said the Lesotho Basketball Association.In an interview with the Lesotho Times this week LBA public relation officer, Ratolo Molupe, said the preparations are going on as expected.The national side will be joined by 52 other African countries vying for a spot in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games set for Nanjing, China in August   [read more]

Molupe told the Lesotho Times that their national league has become stronger despite the financial struggles that pose a major threat to young Basotho basketball enthusiasts looking to make the best out of their talent.
