The National Basketball League (NBL) was successfully launched last month on the 22nd September 2007, at The National University of Lesotho (NUL) courts. These are the results of the games that were played that day.

Rovers (NUL) 43 bt Leseli 39
Bashana Baeso (BB) 57 bt S.M Technikon 21
Lerotholi Polytechnic (LP) 53 bt Leseli 37
Bashana Baeso 65 bt Rovers (NUL) 42

Lerotholi Polytechnic (LP) 39 bt Rovers (NUL) 14
Rangers 22 bt Rovers (NUL) 10

The league resumed on the 6th October 2007 at the Lesotho Correctional Services courts in Maseru. Some games had to be cancelled due to bad weather; they will be played on the weekend of 20th October. Here are the results of the games that were played before the rain interrupted:

Leseli 46 bt Rangers 31

Lerotholi Polytechnic 36 bt Rangers 11

The league will continue this coming weekend in Butha-Buthe district.

MASERU The National under 17 Basketball teams preparations for the second African Youth Games Basketball 3-on-3 set for Botswana from May 24 to 30 are on schedule, said the Lesotho Basketball Association.In an interview with the Lesotho Times this week LBA public relation officer, Ratolo Molupe, said the preparations are going on as expected.The national side will be joined by 52 other African countries vying for a spot in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games set for Nanjing, China in August   [read more]

MASERU Lesotho Basketball Association (LBA) public relations officer, Ratolo Molupe, says basketball is finally getting the recognition it deserves in the country. Molupe told the Lesotho Times that their national league has become stronger despite the financial struggles that pose a major threat to young Basotho basketball enthusiasts looking to make the best out of their talent.
