Even as The Rainmakers from Nakuru got off to a historically bad start to the season, they went into today's game believing they could win and it paid off with a superb team effort to beat KCA-University Ninjas. The Rainmakers won 75-68 in overtime for their first victory of the season. With a 0-10 start, the Nakuru were staring at their worst start of the league in recent times. The Kenyatta University Oryx long wait for a win is over. After 7 games of ineptitude, frustration, poor games, the Oryx finally got off the schneid with a 61-53 victory over Western Delight. The 1-7 Oryx got the job done by eschewing the bad habits of their previous losses, all of which involved fighting to the end with a big fourth quarter dominating Delight 20-10. It's probably not smart to predict many more wins for the students in the future but there is a hope that this victory will allow them to put the recent past behind and head towards more success. Whether that's possible with this remains to be seen. Co-op Bank Spartans got all they could handle from the Trailblazers in pursuit of their 9th win of the season. Trailblazers playing with good energy and great momentum through out the first three quarters decided to cool down the tempo time two minutes to go and that turned tragic as they made two costly turnovers, the former champions were right back in it forcing overtime and eventually winning 71-67. Zetech University Titans survived a Eldonets fourth quarter comeback to win 59-64.
