Here is the weekly review of the top performing Ivorian players, who play currently abroad.


Mouloukou Souleyman Diabate

   #1. This week's number one is former international point guard Mouloukou Souleyman Diabate (181-87, currently plays in France). Diabate could not help one of league's weakest teams Chalons-Reims (9-19) in their last game. Despite his good performance Chalons-Reims lost 69-82 on the road to the higher-ranked (#15) Olympique Antibes. Diabate recorded 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 31 minutes on the court. It was Chalons-Reims' fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Diabate averages: 7.8ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.7apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 45.2%, 3FGP: 36.0% and FT: 41.7% in nine games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Ivorian and French. Diabate played for the Ivorian senior national team two years ago.

Remi Dibo

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Remi Dibo (201-91, agency: Octagon Europe, college: W.Virginia, currently plays in France). He was not able to help ALM Evreux in their game against Provence Basket (19-9) in the French ProB (second division). Despite his very good performance in Friday night's game Dibo was the top scorer with 17 points. He also added 5 rebounds. It's Dibo's first season with the team. Dibo has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 6.1rpg, 1.4apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 50.5%, 3FGP: 34.8%. He is another player who holds two passports: Ivorian and French. Despite Dibo played previously for the French U16 national team, he is currently a member of the Ivorian senior national team.

Charles Abouo

   #3. The Ivorian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international swingman Charles Abouo (196-89, college: BYU, currently plays in France). Abouo was the major contributor in a Denain Voltaire's victory against the closely-ranked Nantes (13-15) 65-55 in the French ProB (second division) last Friday. He recorded 10 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists in 27 minutes. Denain ASC Voltaire (14-14) is placed ninth in the ProB. This year Abouo's overall stats are: 9.6ppg, 3.6rpg, 1.2apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 49.2%, 3FGP: 40.2% and FT: 56.3% in 28 games. He has both American and Ivorian nationalities. Abouo played for the Ivorian national team four years ago.

   #4. Center Louri Frejus Zerbo (209-89, currently plays in France) contributed to a Limoges CSP Elite's victory against the closely-ranked Le Mans (11-17) 79-68 in the French ProA on Saturday night. He recorded 8 points. Limoges CSP Elite (14-14) is placed tenth in the ProA. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Zerbo has been at the team for six years. Zerbo's total stats this season are: 2.5ppg and 3.0rpg. He also holds two passports: Burkinabe and Ivorian. Zerbo used to play for the Ivorian national team back in 2013.

International swingman Guy Landry Edi (202-88, agency: Promotex, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in France) was not able to secure a victory for Saint Chamond (10-18) in their game against SPO Rouen (13-14) in the French ProB (second division). Despite his very good performance last Friday Edi was the top scorer with 16 points. He also added 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Edi's total stats this season are: 9.7ppg, 4.0rpg and 2.3apg. He holds both Ivorian and French passports. Edi plays currently for the Ivorian national team.

   #6. An experienced center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in France) led Charleville-Mezieres to an easy victory against the 14th-ranked Saint-Quentin (12-16) crushing them 98-64 in the French ProB (second division) on Saturday night. He had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 11 rebounds. Kone also added 4 assists in 28 minutes. Etoile Charleville-Mezieres (16-12) is placed third in the ProB. This year Kone has relatively solid stats: 13.8ppg, 9.6rpg, 1.2apg and 1.3spg in 27 games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Ivorian National Team roster.

Bryan Pamba-Juille

   #7. International point guard Bryan Pamba-Juille (184-92, currently plays in France) couldn't help Lille Metropole (16-12) in their game against ADA Blois (15-12) in the French ProB (second division). He recorded 9 points and had 3 steals in 30 minutes. But Lille Metropole lost 65-75 in Blois to the lower-ranked (#5) ADA Blois. This year Pamba-Juille's total stats are: 5.5ppg, 1.4rpg, 2.6apg and 1.3spg in 28 games. Despite he played previously for the French U20 national team, Pamba-Juille is currently in the Ivorian national team roster.

Cedric Bah
Cedric Bah
   #8. Center Cedric Bah (198-94, currently plays in France) couldn't help JA Vichy (10-18) in their game against JL Bourg (20-8) in the French ProB (second division). He recorded 5 points. The bottom-ranked JA Vichy was crushed 98-58 in Bourg by the leading JL Bourg. Bah has averaged so far 1.0ppg and 1.3rpg. He plays currently for the Ivorian national team.


The list of other players, who all have Ivorian passport but never been selected to any of Ivorian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Alain Koffi (207-C-83, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in France) could not help Pau-Lacq-Orthez (19-9) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Pau-Lacq-Orthez lost 73-85 at home to the leading Monaco. Koffi was the second best scorer with 22 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 30 minutes. It's Koffi's first season with the team. Koffi has relatively good stats this year: 11.6ppg and 6.5rpg in 28 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Ivorian and French.

   #2. Doron Perkins (189-G-83, college: Santa Clara, currently plays in Iran) led Naft Abadan to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Tabriz (2-3) crushing them 106-77 in the Iranian Superleague last Thursday. Perkins scored 12 points, had 7 rebounds, passed 4 assists and added 2 blocks. Naft Abadan (6-1) is placed first in Group 2. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. Perkins has relatively good stats this season: 13.8ppg, 6.6rpg, 3.8apg and 2.5spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Ivorian and American.

   #3. Dane Watts (203-F-86, currently plays in Germany) was not able to help Oettinger Rockets Gotha (16-14) in their last game. Despite his good performance Oettinger Rockets Gotha lost 89-100 on the road to the second-ranked Crailsheim Merlins. Watts had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 15 rebounds in 31 minutes. It was Oettinger Rockets Gotha's third consecutive loss in a row. This year Watts has relatively solid stats: 14.1ppg, 6.7rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg in 24 games. He has both American and Ivorian nationalities.

   #4. Adjehi Baru (206-F-91, college: Charleston, currently plays in Denmark) was not able to secure a victory for SISU (6-12) in their game against Horsens IC (23-5) in the Danish Ligaen. Despite his good performance in Tuesday night's game Baru recorded 11 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Baru has reliable stats this season: 13.9ppg, 8.8rpg and 1.3apg.

   #5. Mohamed Toure (190-G-92, currently plays in Italy) couldn't help Orzinuovi GaGa (24-5) in their game against Reggio Emilia (15-15) in the Italian Serie B (third division). Despite his very good performance on Saturday night He was the top scorer with 18 points. Toure's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. Toure has averaged so far 6.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.9apg. He also holds two passports: Ivorian and Italian. Despite Toure's Ivorian nationality, he previously played for the Italian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Ivorian team.

   #6. Armand Anebo (194-SF-87, currently plays in United Kingdom) couldn't help Leeds Force in their game against Glasgow Rocks in the British BBL. Anebo scored only 4 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in 31 minutes. His team was crushed by 31 points 92-61. Anebo has averaged so far 4.3ppg and 5.1rpg in 15 games.

   #7. Salim Gloyd (198-F-92, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: Hawaii-Hilo, currently plays in Spain) managed to help C.B. Tarragona 2017 in a victory against the eighth-ranked Moron 82-77 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) on Sunday night. Gloyd scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 14 minutes. Gloyd has reliable stats this year: 10.4ppg and 4.4rpg in 28 games. He holds both American and Ivorian passports.

We bring you last week's top performances from Ivorians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. TIEGBE BAMBA 27-year old naturalized Ivorian forward Tiegbe Bamba (204-93kg-91, college: Portland State) left STB Le Havre (ProB) from In 13 games he averaged 4.5ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.1apg this season. Bamba also played for Timba Timosoara in Romanian Liga Nationala earlier that season where in 6 ProB games he had 9.2ppg and 5.5rpg. He represented France at the Afrobasket Championships last year.
