Here is the weekly review of the top performing Ivorian players, who play currently abroad.


Pape-Philippe Amagou

   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Pape-Philippe Amagou (186-85, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in France). Amagou could not help Le Mans (11-14) to beat Cholet Basket (9-16). He recorded 9 points and added 4 assists. But Le Mans was badly defeated 78-58 on the road by the lower-ranked Cholet Basket (#15). This season Amagou averages: 7.0ppg, 2.2apg, 2FGP: 37.9%, 3FGP: 46.7%(21-45) and FT: 72.3%. He has a dual citizenship: Ivorian and French. Despite Amagou played previously for the French U20 national team, he played also for the Ivorian national team in 2013.

Charles Abouo

   #2. Second place goes to former international swingman Charles Abouo (196-89, college: BYU, currently plays in France). Abouo was the major contributor in a Denain Voltaire's victory against one of league's weakest teams Saint Chamond (10-16) 75-69 in the French ProB (second division) on Friday night. He recorded 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks in 26 minutes. Denain ASC Voltaire (13-13) is placed tenth in the ProB. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. This year Abouo's overall stats are: 9.7ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 48.2%, 3FGP: 42.5% and FT: 58.3% in 26 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Ivorian and American. Abouo played for the Ivorian national team in 2013.

Remi Dibo

   #3. The Ivorian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Remi Dibo (201-91, agency: Octagon Europe, college: W.Virginia, currently plays in France). He led ALM Evreux to a 2-point victory against the fifth-ranked ADA Blois (14-12) 76-74 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game. Dibo recorded 16 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. ALM Evreux Basket (14-12) is placed ninth in the ProB. Dibo has relatively good stats this season: 11.1ppg, 6.3rpg, 1.6apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 47.0%, 3FGP: 35.2% and FT: 88.2%. He has both Ivorian and French nationalities. Despite Dibo played previously for the French U16 national team, he is currently a member of the Ivorian senior national team.

Mouloukou Souleyman Diabate
Mouloukou Souleyman Diabate
   #4. Point guard Mouloukou Souleyman Diabate (181-87, currently plays in France) was not able to help Chalons-Reims (9-16) in their last game on Friday. Despite Diabate's good performance Chalons-Reims was crushed 79-58 at home by the much higher-ranked Strasbourg IG (#6). He was the second best scorer with 11 points. Diabate's total stats this season are: 5.8ppg, 1.8rpg, 2.2apg and 1.3spg. He also holds two passports: Ivorian and French. Diabate used to play for the Ivorian national team back in 2015.

Bryan Pamba-Juille

   #5. International point guard Bryan Pamba-Juille (184-92, currently plays in France) led Lille Metropole to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Saint Chamond (10-16) crushing them 87-56 in the French ProB (second division) on Tuesday night. Pamba-Juille scored 14 points, made 4 passes and 3 steals in 26 minutes. Lille Metropole Basket (16-10) is placed third in the ProB. This year Pamba-Juille's total stats are: 5.3ppg, 1.4rpg, 2.6apg and 1.2spg in 26 games. Similarly like Diabate and Dibo above he has Ivorian and French nationalities. Despite Pamba-Juille played previously for the French U20 national team, he is currently in the Ivorian national team roster.

Mohamed Kone
Mohamed Kone
   #6. An experienced center Mohamed Kone (211-81, college: Valparaiso, currently plays in France) led Charleville-Mezieres to a victory against the 11th-ranked Nantes (12-14) 79-68 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game. Kone recorded 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds (made all of his six free throws). Etoile Charleville-Mezieres (15-11) is placed fourth in the ProB. This season Kone has relatively solid stats: 13.9ppg, 9.5rpg, 1.1apg and 1.3spg. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Ivorian National Team roster.

   #7. International swingman Guy Landry Edi (202-88, agency: Promotex, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in France) faced previously mentioned Bryan Pamba-Juille in the French ProB last game. Edi was not able to secure a victory for Saint Chamond (10-16) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Saint Chamond was crushed 87-56 in Lille by the much higher-ranked (#3) Metropole. Edi was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 32 minutes. It was Saint Chamond's third consecutive loss in a row. Edi has averaged so far 9.2ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.9apg in 10 games. He is also Ivorian national team player.

Moussa Kone

   #8. Forward Moussa Kone (203-93, college: Hofstra, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help Iserlohn (13-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance the fourth-placed Iserlohn (13-9) was defeated 84-75 on their home court in Iserlohn by the leading Karlsruhe PS in the North group. Kone recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 11 rebounds. It's Kone's first season with the team. He has reliable stats this year: 14.6ppg, 10.7rpg and 1.3apg. Kone holds both American and Ivorian passports. He used to play for the Ivorian national team back in 2015.


The list of other players, who all have Ivorian passport but never been selected to any of Ivorian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Alain Koffi (207-C-83, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in France) could not help Pau-Lacq-Orthez (18-7) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Pau-Lacq-Orthez was crushed 86-64 on the road by the lower-ranked (#5) Paris-Levallois. Koffi was the top scorer with 19 points in 28 minutes. Koffi has relatively good stats this year: 11.1ppg and 6.3rpg in 25 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Ivorian and French.

   #2. Herve Toure (205-PF-82, currently plays in Argentina) managed to help Estudiantes Concordia in a victory against the third-ranked GECR Indalo (24-22) 81-69 in the Argentinian LigaA last Wednesday. Toure scored 5 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 11 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Norte. Estudiantes Concordia (31-15) is placed second. This year Toure's total stats are: 7.0ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.2apg in six games. He is another player who holds two passports: Ivorian and French.

   #3. Adjehi Baru (206-F-91, college: Charleston, currently plays in Denmark) was the major contributor in SISU's victory against the closely-ranked Horsens IC (23-5) 93-85 in the Danish Ligaen in Thursday night's game. He had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 12 rebounds in 29 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Baru's second season in pro basketball. SISU Copenhagen (6-12) is placed fifth in the Ligaen. This year Baru has relatively solid stats: 14.0ppg, 9.1rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1spg in 20 games.

   #4. Dane Watts (203-F-86, currently plays in Germany) led Oettinger Rockets Gotha to a victory against one of league's weakest teams ETB Wohnbau (8-22) 85-81 in the German ProA (second division) last Saturday. He scored 12 points, had 6 boards, handed out 3 passes and blocked 4 shots. BiG Oettinger Rockets Gotha (16-14) is placed seventh in the ProA. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Watts' first season with the team. This year Watts has relatively solid stats: 14.4ppg, 6.3rpg, 2.1apg and 1.2spg. He has both American and Ivorian nationalities.

   #5. Salim Gloyd (198-F-92, agency: Dynamics Global Management, college: Hawaii-Hilo, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help CB Tarragona 2017 (8-19) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Gloyd's good performance CB Tarragona 2017 was edged 86-85 in Leon by the higher-ranked Agustinos-Leclerc (#11). He was the second best scorer with 13 points. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Gloyd has reliable stats this season: 10.7ppg and 4.5rpg. He also holds two passports: Ivorian and American.

   #6. Armand Anebo (194-SF-87, currently plays in United Kingdom) was not able to secure a victory for Leeds Force in their game against Bristol Acadamy Flyers in the British BBL. Anebo recorded only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 13 minutes. His team lost 77-85. Anebo has averaged so far 4.2ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.1apg in 13 games.

   #7. Mohamed Toure (190-G-92, currently plays in Italy) contributed to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked Sestu 78-62 in the Italian Serie B (third division) on Wednesday night. Toure scored 6 points in 25 minutes. He has averaged so far 6.3ppg, 1.9rpg and 2.0apg in 27 games. Toure has Ivorian and Italian nationalities. Despite his Ivorian passport, Toure previously played for the Italian U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Ivorian team.

TIEGBE BAMBA 27-year old naturalized Ivorian forward Tiegbe Bamba (204-93kg-91, college: Portland State) left STB Le Havre (ProB) from In 13 games he averaged 4.5ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.1apg this season. Bamba also played for Timba Timosoara in Romanian Liga Nationala earlier that season where in 6 ProB games he had 9.2ppg and 5.5rpg. He represented France at the Afrobasket Championships last year.
