Games in the Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women's Division returned with a couple of exciting games involving the top ranked teams in the league, Tudu Galaxy and Braves of Customs. Braves easily handled Ghana Navy beating them 50-30 in the opening game before Tudu Galaxy survived an absolute scare to pip Fire Service 27-26.

After missing the last round of matches due to an issue with University of Ghana (UG), Braves got back in action in emphatic style brushing aside its opponent. The defending champions took a 36-25 first half lead and proceeded to punish Navy's carelessness with ball by hitting them with fastbreak layups.

Center Gloria Gyampoh was at the heart of early Braves attacks before Guards Grace Doe, Berlinda Tawiah and Anita Bonney came through late on in the game for the 20 point win.
Center Aishetu Malike and Point Guard Barbara Asante were crucial to Tudu Galaxy's close win over a surging Fire side in the final game of the round.

The pair combined in the second and third quarters to get Galaxy a 17-16 second quarter lead with Malike making four blocks and Asante draining a crucial three point shot to spark Tudu into life.

Fire Point Guard and game changer Carlyn Adjei had an off night but came through with a three point late in the game to give her side a 25-24 lead but Galaxy responded with conversions from the free throw line to seal the win.

The Men's Division I second round tips off today with Braves taking on Ghana Navy and Tema Youth taking on DC Dynamics.
