Midweek games in the Men's Division I and Women's Division of the Accra Basketball League produced some exciting matchups and equally exciting results. In the Men's Division, home side Tudu Magic lost its way and ultimately lost 52-59 to Fire Service on Wednesday March 22.

For Fire, this was the side's maiden game of the season and they made it count on a winning note by beating a very good Magic side who were underwhelming in the tie. On the other hand, new boys Adenta Leopards won its second game in its debut season in the division as it beat Ghana Navy 53-50.

Unlike its previous game against DC Dynamics which Adenta won easily, Leopards had to sweat for the win despite leading by 17 points at the end of the third quarter as Navy fought back to almost the send the tie to overtime.

On Thursday, the Women's Division came alive with equally good games at the Lebanon House Court in Tudu. Fire Service beat University of Ghana (UG) 36-32 in the opening game with Carlyn Adjei dominating play for Fire. The 2016 Ghana Basketball Awards Female MVP nominee tied the score at 30 with a three point shot before her side completed the comeback by scoring late free throws.

Buoyed by the vociferous fans, Tudu Galaxy's strong start to the season continued courtesy a nail biting 31-30 win over Ghana Navy. Later today at the same venue, action returns to the Men's Division with Navy taking on Fire and reigning champions Braves of Customs up against Magic.
