Tudu Galaxy and Ghana Navy have gotten off to a terrific start in this year's Accra Basketball League (ABL) Women's Division by recording big wins over Braves of Customs and University of Ghana (UG) respectively.

Navy beat UG 41-26 and Galaxy beat Braves 31-29.

The defending champions and record league winners Braves went through the winning motions it has had for a long time but two quick three point shots with few minutes to go in the fourth quarter, turned the tie and results in favor of Galaxy.

The win was more remarkable with Tudu presenting just six players for the game.
In the following game, Navy got an opening day win over UG with less fuss than the preceding game as it strutted its new look side to batter the tertiary side all game long. Considering

Navy won just a game all season in 2016, this is a major boost for the club.

Before proceedings got underway, a minute silence was observed for departed league administrator Benjamin Baafi who passed away little over a week ago. The 54 year old run the league and also served as Director of Sports for Ghana's Revenue Authority.
