The University of Ghana's (UG) Male Basketball Team continued its winning ways by beating University of Cape-Coast (UCC) 75-56 in the 7th Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games Basketball competition.

The multi sport tournament began on January 3 and ends on Friday January 13 but host UCC failed to win the competition as it became the latest team to fall to UG. The latter burst out of the gate strongly recording a 42-19 lead heading into the second half; UG Guard Kwami Mawukor converted consecutive three point shots as he starred in the quarter.

UCC attempted a comeback as it went on a 10-1 run to open the third quarter but Guards Emmanuel Wolff, Lankai Blankson-Mills and Joel Tham ensured UG ended on a good note with plays down the stretch.

Ibrahim Mohammed's injury and eventual exit compounded the hosts' problems and erased any chance of completing the massive turn around.

Prior to the game, University of Development Studies (UDS) piped Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) 49-46 to win the third place matchup and end the competition with the bronze medal.

Seven teams representing select public universities in Ghana competed in the event.
