Ghana and University of Connecticut (UCONN) Center Amida Brimah is on the path to recording his best defensive showing yet in his final season at College level after a disappointing third year had him withdraw his name from last year's NBA Draft.

He scored seven minutes and registered three rebounds; one block and steal respectively in ten minutes in his side's 93-82 win over Chiminade University of Honolulu at the Maui Invitational Tournament in Hawaii.

The latest efforts from the 22 year old sees his averages for the season check in at 5.8 points, 6.2 rebounds per game respectively. A defense first big man, Brimah's appeal lie in his ability to block shots and in five games played, he already has 18 rejections to his name. At this rate, his 3.6 blocks will eclipse the 3.5 mark he set in his second year.
His rebounding numbers have also seen a jolt as last season's number (4.6) has been eclipsed.

However, maintaining these performances will be crucial to the chances of Amida making it to the NBA after a disappointing campaign last season had him withdraw his name from the Draft.
The 6 foot 11 inch 2014 NCAA Champion is the nephew of Ghana and Accra Basketball League side Braves of Customs Head Coach, Lawal Brimah.
