Nungua Coldstore has emerged champions of the maiden edition of the Tema Community Basketball League. The side beat Ashaiman Lions 69-59 in Game Two of the best of three finals series to lift the league title.

The side made a quick start by winning the first quarter 21-8 as Ashaiman struggled to put the ball in the hoop mainly due to Coldstore's high activity on the defensive end. Starting Forward Kwame Boamah Djan got into action early on in the quarter as he gobbled a series of tough contested rebounds.

The second quarter followed a similar pattern to the first as Lions worsened its plight with a series of turnovers that Nungua capitalized on to extend its lead to 18 at the end of the half.

The tables turned in the third quarter as Lions embarked on a surprising 11-0 run to tip off proceedings. Shooting Guard Elvis Pobi-Siaw notched three conversions beyond the arc during the run. Backup Forward Dennis Dugbennu pitched in with a nice shift on defense but John Teye Okumoh's failure to convert from the free throw line prevented the side from taking the lead.

Coldstore's Emmanuel Wolff and Nana Owusu Afriyie stemmed the slide by converting a jumper and three point shot respectively to end the quarter 50-44 leaders.
Wolff and Edwin Appiah made good plays of their own late in the final quarter to seal the win. Kwame Boamah Djan was named League Most Valuable Player as Lions Forward Carl
Kuzagbe won Defensive Player Honors.

Community 12 tied the series for third place by beating Flashlights of Tema New Town 70-65 in the preceding game. Game 3 is scheduled to be honored on November 13 in the wake up of an upcoming one day tournament the week before.
