The 2016 Accra Men's Basketball League Men's Division I season moves into the final day after Tema Youth and Braves of Customs made it to the finals by beating Fire Service and Reformers of Prisons respectively at the Lebanon House Court. The finals will take place at the same venue on Saturday October 15.

Tema beat Fire 64-59 right after Braves delivered a 75-55 win over Reformers to setup a rematch of last season's title game which Tema lost to Braves. Both sides are set to represent Ghana at the FIBA Zone Three Africa Championship which takes place in Togo's capital, Lome between October 21 and October 30.

Top hustle plays in the final quarter had Tema make three steals in quick succession to register six points on layups and give the side a 42-36 lead which will be crucial in settling the tie. Matters remained close through three quarters as Tema Guard Nana Owusu Afriyie gave his side a 32-30 half time lead with two free throws after Jibril Musah of Fire tied the game at 30.

Baniba Dodzie won the battle of the shooting guards to lead Braves past Reformers in the opening game of the round. The 2013 Ghana Basketball Awards Most Valuable Player of the Year converted four straight three point shots in the third quarter to top Reformers Elvis Pobi-Siaw's overall output.

Fire and Reformers will battle for third place for the season on the back off Fire's sensational 63-62 win over Prisons in the regular season matchup.
