The 2016 Accra Basketball League Men's Division I postseason has been hit by a series of cancellations that has thrown the playoffs itinerary into disarray as multiple games have been called off.

As the league prepares for the semifinals between Braves of Customs and Reformers of Prisons and Tema Youth and Fire Service, classification games determine the final positions in the standings have been scrapped.

Braves and Tema Youth are expected in Togo's capital, Lome, for the FIBA Zone Three Africa Championship as Ghana's representatives. The tournament takes place between October 21and October 30.

Per the position of the league board, the cancelled games have no bearing on the outcome of the postseason latter stages since the four qualified teams have been decided. Ghana Navy, DC Dynamics, Tudu Magic and Teshie Rangers have been affected by the decision and will have their positions officially declared based on registered point differences in first round playoff games.

Inadequate referees were the reason behind the first postponement which took place in the game between Ghana Navy and Fire Service. Navy's tie against Dynamics was called off after rains halted proceedings which ultimately forced league administrators to take the decision and save 'resources' according to a team official who did not want his identity disclosed.

In the first round, Tudu Magic lost 52-58 to Reformers of Prisons, Navy lost 57-59 to Fire Service as Dynamics lost 52-57 to Tema Youth and Teshie Rangers lost 41-66 to Braves of Customs.
