SONY DSCBraves of CEPS continued their blistering form in the Greater Accra Basketball series with a comfortable 82-49 win over Prisons on Friday. The star-studded team produced perhaps their best performance so far in the season to underline their intention of winning the title again with the easy victory. It was a performance which was meant to silence critics who have questioned their ability to retain their crown following a slow start in their opening game against Police. Once again Dodzie Baniba, Daniel Nii Aryee and Hashim Brimah came into the party with impressive lay-ups coupled with an aggressive offensive play to wallop their opponent. With Prisons limitations on offense, they couldnt give away anything and allowed Braves much space on the scoreboard, particularly going into the third and fourth quarters. CEPS sent Prisons to the free-throw line nine times and made all of them without much difficulty. Braves did enough defensively to put Prisons in some crucial dry spells. There was a stretch in the first quarter and CEPS turned a 10-point lead into a 20-point advantage by the end of the third quarter. CEPS have now won their opening two games and more likely to cement their status as the most powerful force in the game in Ghana. Galaxy female lost to Prisons 44-27 in the first game at the Lebanon court. Prisons Promise Ofori once again turned in an outstanding display to easily account for their opponent.
