Smouha Sporting Club signed Egyptian national basketball team player Hamad Fathy (225-C) on a two-year deal Wednesday. The 2.29-meter player Fathy went to Smouha after his contract with the Eastern Company Club ended this season. Fathy is famous for playing more than one sport on a professional level. He started off his career playing basketball at Sporting. Then Marwan Ragab, the Egyptian National Handball Team's manager, recruited Fathy in to play for the team at the African Games Tournament, held in Congo's Brazzaville on 2015. Although Fathy won a gold medal in the tournament, he returned basketball when he never received a call to officially join the national handball team. Fathy is now in a closed camp with the Egyptian National Basketball Team preparing for the upcoming African Cup of Nations that will be held in Angola in August. Courtesy of: egypttoday.com
