El Zamalek - Club Africain 68:67

El Zamalek from Egypt won over Club Africain from Tunisia 68:67 at the 27th Dubai International Basketball Championship. Both teams scored 20 points each in the first period, while Zamalek grabbed a 3-point lead at the halftime. Moreover the team from Egypt added a 20-18 rally in the third quarter and managed to get a 7-point lead early in the last stanza. Trailing however 50:57 Jarred Shaw gave Club Africain a 59:57 lead after a 9-0 run. El Zamalek meanwhile made the final push in the game to seal the victory.
SHERIF GENEDY top-scored for the winners with 17 points, while Travis Garrison (203-F-84, college: Maryland) had 10. Kyle Vinales (185-G-92, college: Cent.Conn.St.) replied with 19 points, whilst SALEM MORAD notched 14.

The procedures have been completed for Abdel Nader(198-F-93, college: Iowa St.), 24-year-old Egyptian basketball player currently playing in the NBA to join the Egyptian national team by Amr Moselhy, member of the Egyptian Basketball Federation board of directors. Ahly wins Egyptian Basketball Premier League 2017/2018 - 1 month ago
El Ahly won Egyptian Basketball Premier League 2017/2018 beating El Gezira in the Final series. In the last game they posted a 67-63 win. El Ahly led 32-29 at the halftime and then 51-45 with 10 minutes to go. On January 5th Al Gezira posted a narrow 82-81 win.   [read more]
