Egyptian head coach Amr Abu El-Kheir has selected a squad of 24 players to start the training camp for the Mediterranean games which will take place in Mersin, Turkey end of June. Egyptian head coach Amr Abu El-Kheir has selected a squad of 24 players to start the training camp for the Mediterranean games which will take place in Mersin, Turkey end of June.
The squad which didn't contain any foreign based players will start training camp on Tuesday and left out some key players in the Egyptian league like Ahmed Mounier, Sherif Guneidy, Rami Guneidy & Amr Sherif.
The 24 player's selected are:
El Ahly Sc: Tarek El-Ghannam, Ibrahim El-Gammal, & Ibrahim Abu Khadra Sporting: Wael Badr, Mohamed El-Kerdany, Ahmed Mohieb, Mohamed El-Leithy, Yousef Shousha, Ahmed Hisham, & Marwan Khorshed. Al-Ittihad: Rami Ibrahim, Haitham Kamal, Mohannad El-Sabbagh, Ahmed El-Sabbagh, & Moataz Hosni Zamalek: Haitham El-Saharty, Mohamed Salah, Moataz Okasha, & Anas Osama El-Gezira: Roumeh Sameh, Sherif Gamil, & Ahmed El-Shibany Smouha: Ahmed Fahmy El-Geish: Mohamed Fouad
It is expected that foreign based players will start to join the National team by end of this month.
A few minutes ago in Police United indoor stadium, Alexandria Sporting club has edged past Ittihad in an overtime thriller beating them 91 - 87 to win for their first time ever Egyptian Cup, League Season, & Egyptian Super League in the same year.
Before the end of the official time Ittihad was trailed by 3 points, until Muhannad El-Sabbagh hit a 3 pointer beating the buzzer to send the game to overtime.

The performance of this match was no doubt the best all over the season. Wael Badr was the star of the game, despite turning 35 this year he's still the best point guard in the country. Coach Ahmed Marei dominated the league by his up tempo style game, he made excellent chemistry between veteran stars Ahmed Mounir, Mohamed El-Kerdany, & Wael Badr with his other young talented players.
Ittihad fought hard and developed their offensive game a lot compared to their performance in the regular season games. Missing star player Moamen Abu El-Eineen affected the performance of the team.
