London Lightning signs Eric Kibi - Mar 6, 2016

London Lightning (NBL Canada) signed 26-year old naturalized Congolese forward Eric Kibi (198-104kg-90, college: Abil.Christian). He just played at Strsljen in Montenegrin Erste Liga. In four games he had 3.8ppg and 5.5rpg this season. Kibi also spent pre-season at Hertener Loewen (ProB) in German league earlier that year. In three Erste Liga games he recorded 4.7ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.3apg and 1.3spg. The last season he played at Basketball Club Rendsburg (Regionalliga) in German league. In 22 games he recorded very impressive stats: 20.5ppg, 15.0rpg, 1.0apg and 1.4spg.
The previous (13-14) season Kibi played at Ottaway SkyHawks. In 29 NBL Canada games he recorded 4.4ppg and 4.7rpg in 2013-14 season.
In 12-13 season he played at BG Halstenbek/Pinneberg (ProA) in German league. In 20 games he recorded also remarkable stats: 19.9ppg, 9.4rpg and 1.3apg in 2012-13 season.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Kibi's college team won Sun Belt Tournament in 2011. He was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Regionalliga North 2nd Team in 2015.
Kibi graduated from Abilene Christian University in 2012 and it is his fourth season as a professional player.
He could be described: Super athletic position 3 player who has great face up game and can handle the ball in the perimeter to produce with his midrange game, using pull up shot, or strong drives to the basket. He has excellent inside back to the basket game, can use strength to back down players for his drop step move or hook shot consistently. In transition offence or fast breaks, possess great speed, quickness to score in open floor. Strong with the ball and drives to the basket can finish with contact and dunk. Great individual defender in the perimeter and also uses strength comfortably to defend bigger players inside. Has excellent nose for defensive and offensive rebounding, catches the ball on the highest point.

Wen Mukubu extends deal with Limburg United - 15 days ago
Wen Boss Mukubu (198-F-83, college: UAB) has agreed on terms of contract extension with Limburg United. The DR Congolese forward has penned a new two-year deal with the Belgian team. Wen Boss Mukubu started the season with Vichy Clermont in France. He notched 2.0 points and 2.0 boards per game in ProB. Later he moved to Limburg United. His stats read 5.3 points and 3.0 boards per FIBA Europe Cup game. In Belgium League Wen Boss Mukubu delivers 6.6 points and 2.5 rebounds per appearance.   [read more]

Christian Eyenga (ex Openjobmetis V.) signs at Unicaja - 16 days ago
Unicaja Malaga (Liga Endesa) landed 28-year old Congolese small forward Christian Eyenga (201-95kg-89). He moved there from Openjobmetis Varese in Italian Serie A where he played this season. In 29 games he averaged 12.6ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.8apg and 1.2spg. Eyenga ended the last season at Auxilium (also in Serie A). In 12 games he had 9.9ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.3apg and 1.0bpg. Ten years on, and the Democratic Republic of Congo sealed their ticket to the FIBA AfroBasket on Monday thanks to a successful FIBA Africa Zone 4 Group E campaign against the Republic Central Africa (CAF).
