Kano Pillars - InterClub 60:41

Kano Pillars overcame InterClub at the classification round of the Africa Champions Cup held in Benin. The Nigerian team will now face Manga Basket of Gabon in the fight for the fifth overall place at the tournament. InterClub will play versus Maxaquene for the seventh position.
InterClub bravely entered the game. They pulled in front in the opening stanza and posted a 17:10 lead after ten minutes of action. But Kano Pillars gradually recovered. They found the right rhythm in the second stanza and erased the deficit. InterClub accounted for only 6 points in the frame to face a 6-point deficit at halftime 23:29. Kano Pillars continued to dominate at both ends of the court in the third quarter. They outscored their opponents 18:7 in the period to enlarge the cushion to 17 points. InterClub never came back to life in the reminder of the contest and had to surrender at the end. Matheo Ogenyi (86) and Aboubakar Usman (192-G-86) delivered 13 points each for the Nigerian team. Ibrahim Yusuf (196-G-89) contributed 8 points in the victory. Chanel Amboulou (194-F/C-88) replied with 13 points for InterClub. Arnold Boungou (180-G/F-89) had 9 points in defeat.

Camille Eleka joins Berck - 4 days ago
Berck/Rang du Fliers (NM2) agreed terms with 29-year old naturalized Congolese swingman Camille Eleka (196-88). He has played for the last three seasons at Caen Basket Calvados in the NM1, but left the team in Nov.'16. NM1 was a little too high level for him, where in 6 games he had just 1.3ppg last season. Orleans sign Loic Akono - 11 days ago
Entente Orleans 45 (ProA) signed 30-year old naturalized Congolese point guard Loic Akono (176-87). He has played for the last two seasons at Provence Basket in the ProB. In 28 games he had 3.5ppg, 1.2rpg and 1.6apg last season. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Akono won French ProB championship title in 2011 and 2014. Earvine Bassoumba joins Rouen - 14 days ago
SPO Rouen Basket (ProB) agreed terms with 21-year old Congolese forward Earvine Bassoumba (202-96). He has played for the last four seasons at Le Mans Sarthe Basket in the ProA. ProA was a little too high level for him, where in only one game he did not score anything and had only 1 rebound and 1 block. ProB will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time.
