Ibrahim El Gamal (188-G-88) nails late three-pointer to pull Egypt to the semis of the 2013 Afrobasket. Trailing 71:73 he posted brought 74:73 advantage, while Mario Correia (189-G-78, college: Bryant) missed the shot with the buzzer.
Cape Verde started the game with 19-16 lead at the end of the first period and added 21-20 rally in the second frame. Egypt however needed a strong third period to take 61:55 lead after ABDALLA scored the last three points in the quarter. Cape Verde later created a 9-0 run to take 69:68 but fell short at the end.
Abd Alla Sheriff top-scored for the winners with 18 points and Haytham Kamal (207-C/F-87) collected 17 points and 11 rebounds. Ibrahim El Gamal poured in 16 and Assem Marei (206-F-92) scored 9. Brian Rudolph (180-PG-88) ended up with 19 points in defeat and Mario Correia posted 18. Aldevino Lima (208-F-86) scored 8, whilst Braima Freire (188-G-82) notched 7.

Palmarejo Bulls won U18 League in Cape Verde. In the Final game they overcame Amibasket in a tough game 61-59. Angelito managed to bring the victory lmost with the buzzer. He was named MVP of the Finals. The second best player became Victor from the Bulls. Miguel (Amibasket) was the third top player, while Betinho (Bulls) was named the best coach.   [read more]
Cape Verde and Chad get second chance - 1 month ago
West African sides Chad and Cape Verde will have another shot at competing in the upcoming Africa Basketball Championship (AfroBasket) and 2019 World Cup qualifiers after both teams got selected to compete in a special tournament. In 50 D-League games he averaged 10.5ppg, 7.9rpg, 1.5apg and 2.8bpg this season. A very good year in his career as he was selected to D-League All-Star Game.
