Cape Verde advanced into the quarterfinal stage of the African Championship. They triggered a 29:10 run in the fourth frame to finish off Republic of Congo. Dimitry Akanda-Coronel (193-G-92) nailed 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds for the winners.
Republic of Congo exploded with a 21:11 run in the first ten minutes. They maintained the lead throughout the second frame. They ensured a 32:23 halftime lead. Republic of Congo extended the margin in the third term. They entered the final stanza up by as many as 12 points. But Cape Verde managed to bounce back. They exploded with a massive 29:10 run in the fourth period and celebrated victory at the end. Mario Correia (189-G-78, college: Bryant) netted 14 points for the winners. Kris Morlende (182-PG-79) and Giovan Oniangue (196-F-91) responded with 14 points each for Republic of Congo. Jean-Felix Moupegnou (201-F-82, college: Alabama) chipped in 13 points in the loss.

Palmarejo Bulls won U18 League in Cape Verde. In the Final game they overcame Amibasket in a tough game 61-59. Angelito managed to bring the victory lmost with the buzzer. He was named MVP of the Finals. The second best player became Victor from the Bulls. Miguel (Amibasket) was the third top player, while Betinho (Bulls) was named the best coach.   [read more]
Cape Verde and Chad get second chance - 1 month ago
West African sides Chad and Cape Verde will have another shot at competing in the upcoming Africa Basketball Championship (AfroBasket) and 2019 World Cup qualifiers after both teams got selected to compete in a special tournament. The competition will be held in Bamako, Mali between May 19 and May 21 with the West African duo set to compete against Central African Republic and Zimbabwe for a spot in this year's AfroBasket   [read more]

In 50 D-League games he averaged 10.5ppg, 7.9rpg, 1.5apg and 2.8bpg this season. A very good year in his career as he was selected to D-League All-Star Game.
