Sport Alges Dafundo (1Div) tabbed 25-year old naturalized Cape Verdean center Djenifer Monteiro (192-91) from G.D. Gafanha. She helped them to win the Division I title (twice). Monteiro represented Portugal at the African Championships in Maputo (Mozambique) three years ago. Her stats at that event were 7 games: 5.4ppg, 4.7rpg, FGP: 37.1%, FT: 48.0%. Cape Verde - Kenya 63:41 Cape Verde capped their AfroBasket campaign on a high note. They knocked down Kenya to occupy the 9th overall position.
