African Champions Cup to be held in Burundi - May 18, 2010

Burundi is expected to host the 2010 African Champions Cup edition. The news agencies reported that the tournament is scheduled to take place from August 16 through 22. It will be the 25th edition of the tournament. Last season Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda of Angola celebrated the victory.
The preliminary list of the participants became known. Among the teams to travel to Burundi are Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda, Petro Atletico de Luanda of Angola, Mazembe Katanga of D.R. Congo, AC Police, ASC Jeanne DArc and ASFA from Senegal, Al Gezira, Al Ittihad Alexandria and Al Zamalek from Egypt, ASEC and Club Sportif D'Abidjan of Ivory Coast, Hit Tresor and Red Star (NDongo Club) from Central Africa, Moroccan Maghreb de Fes, Maxaquene Maputo of Mozambique and APR BC from Rwanda.

Patriots Basketball Club inks Jean de Dieu Niagunduka, ex Urunani - 1 Year ago
Patriots Basketball Club (D1) agreed terms with Burundian ex-international Jean de Dieu Niagunduka. He played most recently at Urunani in Burundian D1 league. Niagunduka was named to Burundian National Team in 2013. He was a member of Burundian Senior National Team since then. Urunani retain Zone V crown - 3 Years ago
Burundis Urunani Basketball Club retained the Fiba/Africa Mens Zone V Club Championships title after beating hosts KPA 68-59 on Sunday at KPA welfare gymnasium in Mombasa, Kenya.
