We know now who is the best player of our league. They were three in the starter of the AJSB (Association des Journalistes Sportifs du Burkina).
- the first player was Mariam TRAORE (best female player since many years, electricians, champions of season 2006-2007, winners of the President Cup)
- the second was Isaac Palenfo (-C) of Kadiogo Bulls
- the third was Telesphore SOME of RCK (falcons, champions 2006-2007, winners of the President Cup)
It was hard for Mariam to got the trophy because the best player of the season 2005-2006 was a female player. Isaac didn't win a final during the season. So, Telesphore became the last season MVP.
Telesphore SOME, Guard, RCK falcons, heigh 1,87m, weight 86kg
This little guard begins basketball with the coach Voulot OUEDRAOGO; he won the championship in the season 1995-1996, 1996-1997 and 1997-1998 (U18) with the stellar of Ouagadougou (EFO); in 1998-1999, he was the U20 champion with the same team.
For some problems, he changed team in 1999-2000 and played with the Petroliers (AS-Sonabhy); he was again champion with the U20. The same season he was designed as the U20 best player by the 'Ligue du Centre'.
During 4 years, HE disappears from our statistics (problems with his team and the coach).
Coach COULIBALY of the falcons called him 3 years ago. It was a good choice. With his new team, Telesphore found again the way to win. He played more and became slowly, a big warrior. With the little center Innocent Hien (-G) (MVP in 2004-2005), Namory Kone, Ben Sada DABIRE, they work so hard as they begins their walk to became the best team of the three last season. They lost the championship in 2004-2005 but they win the president cup the same season. One year later, they lost the two competitions. Last season they won all the trophies and Telesphore became the MVP of the season.
Telesphore is the guy that every coach wants to have in his team; he does't speak too much when he plays; he just work; he does all the things you want. He likes all the things the others players don't like: defence. He defends on all the players, and sometimes he is able to stop some centers; he is not tall; but he is very strong, just look at his arms and his legs. He moves very fast and his fastbreak finish all the time by a big dunk; he has a big jump and loves playing rebound in his team. He never say never.
Younger, his big dream was to play in NBA; now, he just want to play and defend his trophy of MVP. As he know, it'll not be easy; but as he says every time, 'don't be afraid of tomorrow, let tomorrow come himself...'
