First Round Games coming to a close - Jun 7, 2013

The first round of the Botswana Basketball League will be coming to a close on the 15th June. Before that games will be played this weekend at the SSKB and Francistown courts. In the first game tomorrow warriors will square up against Cadets at 2pm while Spartans will lock horns against BC Saints. The last game of the day will see BDF V up against Troopers. That game will decide how teams will be placed in the standings going in to the final week of games. At present Spartans is first on the table with 17 points, Troopers with 14 point and BDF V at number three also with 14 points.
In Francistown Splinters will face Dolphins.  

Association to host CUCSA games - 3 days ago
Preparations for hosting the Confederation of University and Colleges Sports Associations (CUCSA) games are going on smoothly. Botswana Tertiary Students Sports Association (BOTESSA) president, Herbert Letsebe said this at a press conference in Gaborone recently. Botswana has finished bottom of the boys and girls pools in the FIBA Africa Zone VI U16 Afrobasket qualifiers. The five-day event, which was held at the Botswana National Youth Centre (BNYC) multi-purpose hall, came to an end on Saturday (May 30) with the hosts having lost all their matches after some dismal performances. Dolphins Champions - 3 Years ago
Dolphins are the Botswana Basketball League men's division 1 champions after beating Troopers 71-56 in a fast-paced title decider played on Saturday night. The entertaining match was halted for more than 30 minutes in the last quarter due to darkness after lights went off at the University of Botswana (UB) basketball courts.
